Denise Burhans completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1976 and her Master of Science degree in Audiology in 1977 from West Virginia University. After practicing audiology in several different cities including Chicago, Baton Rouge, Cleveland and San Diego she returned to her home state of West Virginia in September 2011 to practice and live in Charleston.
Her experience in audiology has been in hospital settings, a pediatric practice at Children’s Hospital in San Diego, and several different otolaryngology practices throughout her career. Her special interest is in dizziness, or vertigo problems. She performs the videonystagmography (VNG) testing for EN&T. She has been involved in ENG/VNG testing since 1977.
She is currently a member of American Speech and Hearing Association, the American Academy of Audiology and is licensed by the State of West Virginia to practice audiology.
She is married with one child who recently graduated from WVU. She resides in Charleston with her husband. She enjoys gardening and hiking.
